Heidi Sidelinker can draw a hush across whatever crowd she is in front of, whether in a music venue, an outdoor festival, a wine lounge, or a living room; whether with a full band, in a duo, or playing solo with her 12-string guitar.

Her music career has taken her to decades in NYC, touring across the country and Europe, through various musical projects, into motherhood, and toward a mastery and maturity that characterize especially her newest work.

Heidi was born into a family of musicians and music lovers. She discovered the guitar and songwriting in college when she found an old classical guitar in a coat closet with a Simon and Garfunkel songbook. Within a year she had left college and taken the guitar on the road, beginning a musical odyssey that continues to this day. She was quickly winning awards, playing festivals and large venues opening up for artists such as Blues Traveler and Iris Dement while grabbing the attention of record labels, but her intention has always been to do follow her heart and the process.

Motherhood has opened a whole new world for Heidi, who homeschools her two children by day and performs music by night. She has learned to embrace the unpredictable nature of her art - letting the songs come in waves, catching sparks of inspiration, spending some days going deep and disciplined and other days coming up for air. “It’s chaotic,” she says, “without rhyme or reason when it will come, but I embrace it all- that’s art.” She admits that she still longs for traveling the open road and wandering; for creek showers and sleeping under the stars. “Songs are what bring me back there,” she reflects. And for audiences and fans, she can bring them there too, with lyrics and melodies that are transporting and transcendent.

Having released a few original compositions for the Downriver Ramble Vol. 1, Heidi just returned to the studio and plans to release four new singles this Fall as well as many more to follow.
